Biography My vision of the New York Cityscape is from the perspective of growing up in the mountains of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Expressing a color vibration that I found in New York city through a lucid pallet. my goal is to give the viewer a experience that entices the imagination and brings what is overlooked in the depths up to the surface. Leaving the viewer with deeper questions of what they are looking at in the World's shadow, and what light illuminates. My approach is first painting studies outdoors on location, as a base for my visions and then developing larger more complex works in my studio. I prepare and make most of my art materials for the purpose of quality and archival properties including grinding all my pigments into paint, stretching and priming linen, cooking and preparing my oils, varnishes, and mediums. I invest a lot of time and expense in the creation of my paintings so that they will not deteriorate over time, and have a genuine professional hand made quality. I have developed a deep connection with my materials, as a musician has with their instrument to bring a clearer expression to the audience. Inspired by the artist who have devoted there lives to creating something bigger than themselves including; Frank Mason, Gregory Crane, Titian, Hieronymus Bosch, Pieter Brueghel, Michelangelo, Rubens, Rembrandt, Brouwer, Velazquez, Ryder, Hopper, Bellows, Ernst, Turner, Thiebaud, Ensor, and Burchfield. With great courage they have stepped into the unknown and brought out a timeless vision. Here I stand humbled at the base of Olympus looking up at those who took the journey before me, I step forth.
